Your prescription will come from a partner pharmacy. In fact, using your normal insurance copay, you’ll be helping to provide free healthcare to uninsured members of our community. Read about METRO’s Copay It Forward program.
PrEP is currently covered by most insurances. The federal government recently instructed insurance companies to cover all costs associated with PrEP including cost of medication and copays, coinsurance or deductible payments for the quarterly clinic visits and lab tests required to maintain a PrEP prescription. If your PrEP appointment coincides with any other service, such as primary care, there will be a separate copay collected for that service. METRO also provides cost assistance and self-pay options for those without insurance.
Regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, PrEP is for anyone that’s sexually active and could be exposed to HIV, including those in committed relationships. Learn more here.
